Pedal power for kids

COMO resident John Sinnamon took part in this year’s Ride For Sick Kids WA to help raise funds for seriously ill children and their families from regional WA.

During the four-day bike ride, Mr Sinnamon rode 450km around the South-West, starting in Margaret River on November 18.

Organised by Ronald McDonald House Charities, funds raised from this year’s ride will go toward the operating costs of the new $27 million Ronald McDonald House in Perth.

The house cares for up to 47 regional families a night and Mr Sinnamon said the facility played an integral role in supporting people from all over the State.

“I know many families from the South-West call Ronald McDonald House their homeaway-from, so it’s nice to be able to cycle through their re- gion in support of all families going through a difficult time,” he said.

The new Ronald McDonald House has been built adjacent to the new children’s hospital in Nedlands and is due to open in December.

In its fourth year, the ride has raised more than $1 million for Ronald McDonald House and this year’s fundraising will help cover running costs.
