Unbeaten century on debut for Casey in win
TOM Casey scored a century on debut for Perth in their easy win over South Perth at Richardson Park in Premier Cricket on Saturday.
The Perth Demons had claimed their first-innings points after South Perth managed just 122 and looked to push for outright victo- ry. Englishman Adam Wheater joined Casey at the resumption of day two and accelerated the scoring rate with 72 off 65 balls.
Casey finished with 106no from 173 deliveries, with 11 boundaries in his knock which lasted just over four hours.
The away side declared at 2-287 but South Perth fought hard to end the day at 3-200.
Trent Ovens scored an unbeaten century to move him to the top of the first-grade runs charts.
Perth have a real test next up at home to premiers Joondalup, while the Sky Blues go to Mt Lawley
