Un­beaten cen­tury on de­but for Casey in win

TOM Casey scored a cen­tury on de­but for Perth in their easy win over South Perth at Richard­son Park in Premier Cricket on Satur­day.

The Perth Demons had claimed their first-in­nings points af­ter South Perth man­aged just 122 and looked to push for out­right victo- ry. English­man Adam Wheater joined Casey at the re­sump­tion of day two and ac­cel­er­ated the scor­ing rate with 72 off 65 balls.

Casey fin­ished with 106no from 173 de­liv­er­ies, with 11 bound­aries in his knock which lasted just over four hours.

The away side de­clared at 2-287 but South Perth fought hard to end the day at 3-200.

Trent Ovens scored an un­beaten cen­tury to move him to the top of the first-grade runs charts.

Perth have a real test next up at home to pre­miers Joon­dalup, while the Sky Blues go to Mt Law­ley
