Go­ing in to bat for Perth

BIG-HIT­TING English im­port Adam Wheater will be vi­tal to the hopes of Perth Cricket Club when they host Sun­day’s dou­ble-header Statewide T20 fix­tures at Fletcher Park.

ROUNDS two and three of the statewide Twenty20 Com­pe­ti­tion will take place on De­cem­ber 6 at Fletcher Park be­tween Perth, Fre­man­tle, Clare­mont-Ned­lands and Scar­bor­ough, with the dou­ble-header be­gin­ning at 10am.

English big-hit­ting im­port Adam Wheater will be vi­tal to the hopes of Perth when they host Sun­day’s dou­ble­header at Fletcher Park.

The mid­dle-or­der Hamp­shire wick­et­keeper-bats­man blasted 72 from just 65 balls last week­end in the two-day com­pe­ti­tion and will be look­ing to bet­ter his 30 from the first round of the T20 com­pe­ti­tion against Clare­mont-Ned­lands.

Ex-Ho­bart Hur­ri­canes big-hit­ter Travis Birt will lead Clare­mont-Ned­lands and af­ter miss­ing out against Perth in round one, will be ea­ger to make a con­tri­bu­tion.

The morn­ing games will be­gin at 10am and will fea­ture Perth against Fre­man­tle as well as Clare­mont-Ned­lands against Scar­bor­ough.

Wins are vi­tal, with lim­ited games in the com­pe­ti­tion.

The af­ter­noon fix­tures be­gin­ning at 2pm will in­clude Perth tak­ing on Scar­bor­ough and Fre­man­tle bat­tling Clare­mont-Ned­lands.

Food and bev­er­ages are avail­able at the ground.
