Lighting way for sick kids

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Christmas -

THROUGHOUT December, fairy lights will mean more than Christmas cheer for about 40 families who are raising money for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

As part of the organisation’s 13th campaign, money donated to decorated homes registered across Perth will fund work at the new Perth Children’s Hospital.

Last year, more than 50 homes raised $122,287 for the PMH Foundation with decorations ranging from traditional nativity scenes to characters from popular film Frozen.

Chief executive Denys Pearce said people who visited the decorated houses and donated to the foundation ensured hospitalised children could experience a happy Christmas too.

“Many children who are cared for at PMH over the Christmas period might not have the opportunity to experience the magic of seeing Christmas Lights themselves,” Mr Pearce said.

“We love that visiting homes taking part in PMH Foundation’s Christmas Lights for PMH has become a special tradition for so many families.”
