Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - Opinion -

AS I enter or leave my driveway by car, I must and do give way to pedestrians on the footpath.

I have it on good authority that this rule applies also to the entrances of shopping centres, but find it rarely observed.

People rarely give way to me as a pedestrian near these places, and only a couple of days ago in my car, I paused and signalled a couple to go ahead across the shopping centre entrance, but they refused. So fault on both sides. It seems to be "honoured more in the breach than the observance". Name and address supplied.
