KENSINGTON detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a serious assault in Belmont on November 15. Around 7pm a group of four were walking along Raleigh Street when a van drove past and two people in the car started yelling at the group. The van stopped nearby and two males approached one of the men in the group. One of the men from the vehicle punched the victim in the nose while the other kicked his legs, causing him to fall to the ground. The two men then got back in the van and headed towards Keymer Street. The victim received serious injuries to his ankle and face, including a fractured cheekbone and eye socket. The van the two men were driving (pictured) is described as a white older style van, believed to be an old box station wagon, possibly 1989-1990 model. The first man is described as being dark skinned, around 200cm tall, 35-40 years old with a medium to solid build and short black hair. He was wearing a green T-shirt. The second man is described as being dark skinned, around 195cm tall, 35-40 years old with a medium build and short black hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt. A STRING of thefts occurred last Wednesday at Belmont Forum. Two people were seen on a motorcycle stealing handbags and similar items from people walking to and from their cars in the area. Three similar incidents occurred within a few minutes. Two dark skinned males wearing helmets were spotted on an orange trail motorbike. They were last seen heading towards Leach Highway.
