Duffield’s bag of five hum­bles Subi-Floreat

PREMIER Cricket leader Perth took first in­nings points against Su­bi­aco Floreat on the back of a fiery spell from Ryan Duffield on Satur­day.

Duffield (27), who played for the Aus­tralian Leg­ends XI against Perth Scorchers last Fri­day, took a five-wicket haul as Su­bi­aco Floreat were bowled out for 122 at Floreat Park in Premier Cricket.

He took 5-11 from 10.4 overs, while the Li­ons of­fered lit­tle re­sis­tance.

Michael Grzinic (3-33) and the re­turn­ing Josh Ni­cholas (2-34) were also among the wick­ets.

Perth strug­gled to reach the tar­get eight wick­ets down be­fore con­tin­u­ing on.

Ja­cob Van Galen scored a valu­able 35, with Ni­cholas round­ing out a good day, guid­ing his side to the win with 26 not out.

South Perth was strug­gling af­ter a dif­fi­cult open­ing day against Gos­nells at Richard­son Park.

The away side was even­tu­ally bowled out for 316, with Cam Huck­ett ex­cep­tional for the hosts with 5-91.

Si­mon Rin­grose took 3-56, while young­ster Dar­ius D’Silva also took a wicket.

The Sky Blues are 1-16 in re­ply.
