Duffield’s bag of five humbles Subi-Floreat
PREMIER Cricket leader Perth took first innings points against Subiaco Floreat on the back of a fiery spell from Ryan Duffield on Saturday.
Duffield (27), who played for the Australian Legends XI against Perth Scorchers last Friday, took a five-wicket haul as Subiaco Floreat were bowled out for 122 at Floreat Park in Premier Cricket.
He took 5-11 from 10.4 overs, while the Lions offered little resistance.
Michael Grzinic (3-33) and the returning Josh Nicholas (2-34) were also among the wickets.
Perth struggled to reach the target eight wickets down before continuing on.
Jacob Van Galen scored a valuable 35, with Nicholas rounding out a good day, guiding his side to the win with 26 not out.
South Perth was struggling after a difficult opening day against Gosnells at Richardson Park.
The away side was eventually bowled out for 316, with Cam Huckett exceptional for the hosts with 5-91.
Simon Ringrose took 3-56, while youngster Darius D’Silva also took a wicket.
