Calendar has good cause

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - News - Kaylee Martin

SIZZLE into the New Year thanks to the PMH Foundation’s 2016 firefighters calendar. South Perth resident Greg Moulton has posed as Mr October.

THREE local firefighters have turned up the heat to help children in WA by posing in the hotly-anticipated 2016 Perth Firefighters Calendar.

Raising funds for the PMH Foundation, the sizzling calendar will once again support the Burns Unit at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children.

South Perth resident Greg Moulton, who is Mr October, said he held the cause close to his heart after spending time at PMH as a child.

“PMH Foundation is a great charity. I’d actually spent a lot of time in PMH when I was very young,” Mr Moulton said.

“I had viral meningitis when I was five months old and spent 10 days there. I also spent two years doing speech therapy when I was three years old, so it means a lot to us and I donate when I can.”

PMH Foundation chief executive Denys Pearce said the Foundation’s long-standing partnership with the calendar had been a huge success, rais- ing more than $700,000 to help fund equipment and research at the hospital’s Burn Unit over the past eight years.

“The Burns Unit cares for thousands of children from throughout WA each year, so the equipment funded by the Firefighters Calendar does make a difference for these children,” he said.

“It supports their recovery from a burn injury.

“We are grateful to the 14 firefighters who have bared their flesh in the name of supporting kids across WA.”
