Woman wins pen­dant of life

CLOVERDALE res­i­dent Maria Burgess took home an early Christ­mas present af­ter win­ning the Cir­cle of Life pen­dant in The Lion King and Lin­neys col­lab­o­ra­tion pro­mo­tion.

De­signed by Lin­neys’ cre­ative di­rec­tor Justin Lin­ney, the pen­dant was worth $10,000 and was hand­crafted by founder Alan Lin­ney.

Tak­ing in­spi­ra­tion from the four el­e­ments of life, the pen­dant is an in­ter­pre­ta­tion of hit in­ter­na­tional mu­si­cal The Lion King’s song Cir­cle of Life.

The pen­dant com­prises ti­ta­nium, rep­re­sent­ing wa­ter; di­a­monds, rep­re­sent­ing fire; neg­a­tive space be­tween the forms to rep­re­sent air; and 18-carat WA gold to rep­re­sent earth.

The Lion King is play­ing at Crown The­atre un­til Fe­bru­ary 28.
