Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

I WATCHED a young couple and their preschool child waddle down to the pond carrying a number of loaves of bread. They tossed it all into the water and let it float around like algae.

The ducks and birds were not at all interested because being late Sunday afternoon they had already been fed many times by people.

I'll give them their due though; at least they didn't throw the empty bags on the ground like many do.

Why is it that so many people ignore official signs telling them not to feed the wildlife and think their enjoyment is more important than wildlife health? Name and address supplied.
