BELMONT Youth Services YMCA WA was commended at the YMCA National Annual Awards last month.

Belmont Youth Services operates out of the Base@Belmont, a smoke, alcohol and drug-free venue for young people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Young people engage in activities and workshops throughout the week as well as outings and outreach in the local community on weekends.

YMCA WA has worked with the City of Belmont since 2012 providing the City’s young people with access to youth workers and innovative programs.

City of Belmont chief executive officer Stuart Cole said he congratulated the team at the centre and praised the great partnership between the City and YMCA.

“Our youth are important to us and we are determined to provide good services that help youth reach their full potential,” he said. “The City also recently presented one of its prestigious Opportunity Awards to the YMCA WA in recognition of the positive impact the Belmont Youth Services had on the community.”
