MURDOCH STUDENT MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHERE IT COUNTS
STUDENTS at Murdoch University have the opportunity to build upon their current skills and to make a difference in the community with the postgraduate Counselling program.
Student Claire Jones said she felt the program would enhance the work she was doing in her current role as a registered occupational therapist.
“I help those people affected by mental illness to recover and develop meaningful engagement within their communities and I chose to study post-graduate counselling not only to develop skills for my current role but to broaden my future career options as well,” Claire said.
“Not all counselling courses are the same and for me flexibility
was important and as well as a course with a focus on research that would lead to professional accreditation.
“One of Murdoch’s strengths is that it attracts students from a wide range of professional backgrounds and I appreciated how we were all encouraged to draw on each others experiences.”
Murdoch University offers a complete postgraduate suite of courses in Counselling at both the South Street and Mandurah campuses.
