Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - COURSES AND CLASSES -

LED by director Charisse Parnell, The Dance Collective is one of Perth’s premier dance training centres and performance companies.

Charisse and a passionate team of experienced choreographers provide more than 80 classes in a huge range of dance styles, as well as weekly yoga classes to help relax, restore and uplift the mind and body.

“If you loved TV show So You Think You Can Dance, you will see a clear similarity in the style offered by The Dance Collective,” she said.

“Our ethos strongly focuses on building confidence, improving technical training and making social connections.”

The Dance Collective has a large number of boys-only classes in hiphop, breakdancing, contemporary and jazz and caters for students from five years old to adults.

“Our oldest dancer currently is 57 and she is one of most dedicated and stand out performers,” Charisse said.

“I love that we have so many older people wanting to come dance because they may have missed out in their earlier years.”

The Dance Collective is renowned for its exceptional end-of-year showcases and concerts at Crown Theatre.

Its professional dancers work with some of Perth’s best event companies and have previously performed with Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and The Veronicas.
