MEDIAN RENTS CONTINUE TO FALL
RENTAL REIWA members reported total properties (houses and units) leased for the four-week period increased to 573, a rise of 21 per cent over the last four weeks. This is 7 per cent higher than the same time last year. Total leased properties in the Perth Metro region have increased by 16 per cent and still remain 13 per cent above the same time last year. Listings in the SouthernGazette area are 2 per cent higher over the four weeks and are 58 per cent higher than the levels seen the same time last year. The overall market has seen listings increase across the four weeks by 5 per cent and are 61 per cent above the same time last year. The overall median weekly rent for the local area for the three months to December 2015 is $400/week, $50/week lower than the three months to December 2014. Perth median rent has seen a $45/week fall.
