ME­DIAN RENTS CON­TINUE TO FALL

RENTAL REIWA mem­bers re­ported to­tal prop­er­ties (houses and units) leased for the four-week pe­riod in­creased to 573, a rise of 21 per cent over the last four weeks. This is 7 per cent higher than the same time last year. To­tal leased prop­er­ties in the Perth Metro re­gion have in­creased by 16 per cent and still re­main 13 per cent above the same time last year. List­ings in the South­ernGazette area are 2 per cent higher over the four weeks and are 58 per cent higher than the lev­els seen the same time last year. The over­all mar­ket has seen list­ings in­crease across the four weeks by 5 per cent and are 61 per cent above the same time last year. The over­all me­dian weekly rent for the lo­cal area for the three months to De­cem­ber 2015 is $400/week, $50/week lower than the three months to De­cem­ber 2014. Perth me­dian rent has seen a $45/week fall.
