THE Town of Victoria Park’s project Evolve takes a new approach to local government practices by calling on the community to help plan the Town’s future.

Legislation states each local government must prepare a set of strategic documents to guide the future direction of the organisation, known as the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.

One part of the Framework is the preparation of a Strategic Community Plan, which is presented to the community for comment then adopted by Council with minimal change.

The Town has turned this process on its head by taking the community on the journey from the start, asking for ideas on planning for the future, based on community needs and wants.
