THE tor­toise stolen from Perth Zoo was re­cov­ered by of­fi­cers from the Cen­tral Metropoli­tan District Con­trol Cen­tre. The tor­toise was pur­chased by a mem­ber of the pub­lic who was un­aware

of the black mar­ket value or rar­ity of the an­i­mal. When he re­alised he might have the stolen tor­toise, he took it to Perth po­lice sta­tion. The tor­toise was was checked by a Mur­doch Univer­sity Ve­teri­nar­ian be­fore be­ing re­turned to Perth Zoo.

A PARK­ING me­ter in South Perth was ripped from the ground (above) and stolen from Richard­son Re­serve last week. It was stolen about 5am on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 4. City of South Perth said the me­ter had about $22 in it. Con­tact Kens­ing­ton Po­lice sta­tion with any in­for­ma­tion.
