Second language a leg up in changing world

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

A NEW Mandarin language course is available for kids as young as three at Victoria Park’s newest educational campus.

The Mandarin classes will be held at the International Institute of Business Technology (IIBT) for kids aged three to nine.

IIBT’s native Mandarin speaking teacher Lisa Lyu said studies show children who learn a language before the onset of adolescence are much more likely to adopt native pronunciation.

“In our changing economic world being able to speak and write Mandarin could potentially offer enormous career opportunities and advantages in later life,” she said.

The classes will run on Monday and Wednesday after- noons. Call 6180 2188.
