WHAT IS AMENDMENT 46?
Amendment 46 to the City of South Perth’s town planning scheme proposes to put height restrictions on high-rise developments and therefore reduce the amount of residential and commercial dwellings around the Mill Point peninsula. Under the amendment, the Mill Point peninsula would be removed from the special design area which would reduce developable land by 16 per cent. In 2012, Amendment 25 had proposed to take away all height restrictions on developments and sought to transform the area into a key-inner city hub. Amendment 46 was introduced in 2015 to in response to residents concerns around Amendment 25’s lack of height restrictions.
