Bringing talent to the table
AUSTRALIA’S best Para athletes will come together in WA this April to compete in the 2016 National Table Tennis Championships.
At Carmel Gym in Yokine, the competition will have some of the nation’s best players with disabilities.
It is the last major table tennis tournament in Australia before the hopeful Paralympians head to Rio.
Athletes from the West Australian Table Tennis Association (WATTA) in East Victoria Park will compete in the national event.
WATTA tournament director Verona Johnstone said she hoped this competition would help bring the sport to light.
“We hope that raising awareness for Para table tennis in WA will help to bring more athletes to compete and enjoy the sport,” she said.
“This year prize money is being offered, which will prepare a much needed boost to the players.
