McGrath Foundation eyes messy fundraiser for nurses
A 5KM, female-only mud and obstacle race is coming to Ascot Racecourse in a bid to raise money for The McGrath Foundation.
Miss Muddy events are being held throughout Australia and organisers are hoping the Perth event on April 30 and May 1 will attract about 5000 people.
The aim is to raise more than $2 million to place a breast cancer nurse in each location for three years.
The nurses provide vital physical, psychological and emotional support throughout treatment according to Miss Muddy director Adam McDonald.
“Each year more than 15,000 women in Australia are diagnosed with breast cancer,” he said.
“We want to support them by increasing the numbers of breast cancer nurses.”
