Big busi­nesses join in big Clean Up Day

A NUM­BER of lo­cal com­mu­nity groups and busi­nesses have joined forces to get be­hind Clean Up Aus­tralia Day this Fri­day.

Crown Perth, the Bur­swood Park Board, the Clon­tarf Foun­da­tion and the Town of Vic­to­ria Park have made up the small army of vol­un­teers set to put on some gloves to clean up the Bur­swood Park Fore­shore.

The ini­tia­tive is part of the Crown Con­ser­va­tion pro­gram that runs ac­tiv­i­ties through­out the year to re­duce en­vi­ron­men­tal im­pact, with a fo­cus on things like wa­ter con­ser­va­tion.

Over the past 25 years, Aus­tralians have de­voted more than 27.2 mil­lion hours to Clean Up Aus­tralia Day and col­lected over 288,650 tonnes of rub­bish.

The of­fi­cial Clean Up Aus­tralia Day is this Sun­day.
