Smiles for miles at chil­dren’s event

MORE than 5000 peo­ple flocked to Faulkner Park in Cloverdale on Sun­day to en­joy City of Bel­mont’s an­nual Kidz Fest and Ju­nior Sports Expo.

The event was for chil­dren aged 2 to 12 years, who en­joyed free en­ter­tain­ment, arts and crafts work­shops, sports and car­ni­val rides.

City of Bel­mont Mayor Phil Marks said the event was al­ways pop­u­lar with res­i­dents and vis­i­tors to the area.

“This event is one of the most pop­u­lar on the City’s cal­en­dar and this year, the beau­ti­ful weather and fan­tas­tic line-up of en­ter­tain­ment, rides and sports put smiles on ev­ery­one’s faces,” he said.

”We are for­tu­nate to have a beau­ti­ful park such as Faulkner Park in the City and the event was en­joyed by ev­ery­one.”

“The at­mos­phere was fan­tas­tic, and judg­ing by all the happy smiles, the kids had a won­der­ful af­ter­noon out.”
