RENTALS HAVE SLIGHT RISE
RENTAL REIWA members reported total properties leased for the four-week period increased to 653, a rise of 14 per cent over the last four weeks, and are 10 per cent higher than the same time last year. Total leased properties in the Perth Metro region increased by 17 per cent and still remain 13 per cent above the same time last year. Listings in the SouthernGazette area have decreased in the four weeks by 2 per cent but remain 53 per cent higher than the same time last year. The overall market has seen listings decrease across the four weeks by 3 per cent but remains 56 per cent above the same time last year. Overall median weekly rent for the local area for the three months to January 2016 is $395/week overall – $55/week lower than the three months to January 2015. Similarly, the overall median rent for Perth has seen a $45/week fall in the three months to January 2016.
