Music a shore thing
SPLASH OF CULTURE AT ANNUAL CONCERT
It’s a truly special event where we have the opportunity to recognise and appreciate talented young musicians and performers. - Deputy mayor Brian Oliver
PERCUSSIONISTS, musicians and awardwinning artists will band together to bring a splash of international culture to the Burswood foreshore.
The Town of Victoria Park will host the annual classical music outdoor event Music by Moonlight on Sunday evening.
Headlined by the WA Youth Orchestra (WAYO), the evening will be a celebratory mixture of local talents and international acts. WAYO will revisit Disney favourites and classic action films and take the audience on a musical journey through Aladdin, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jurassic Park.
Town of Victoria Park deputy mayor Brian Oliver said the annual evening was a great celebration of WA talent.
“Music by Moonlight is a special event where we have the opportunity to recognise talented young musicians,” he said.
“The event is sure to be a wonderful way to end the weekend. So bring your family, friends and neighbours along for a delightful evening of music under the stars.”
This year is the ninth time WAYO has performed, but the 2016 program promises a diverse, international line-up.
Former Cirque de Soleil percussionist Marcus Perrozzi will guest perform, along with award-winning Seychellois artist Grace Barbe.
Japanese percussionist Marcus Perrozzi will perform on Sunday.
