Beauty off to finals
HARD work and effort has paid off for Manning beauty Jenayah Elliot after she was crowned a national finalist in the Miss Teen Galaxy beauty pageant.
At the pageant’s WA state heat Jenayah (17) became one of six WA finalists chosen to contest the national crown on the Gold Coast next month.
The Penrhos student said her spirits were still high and the excitement from the state final was yet to wear off.
“It’s all still a bit of a blur, everything from modelling to my interview, to standing up there and waiting for my name to be called, it’s hard to describe the feeling,” Jenayah said.
“It’s just sheer exuberance that you feel when all of your hard work and dedication pays off.”
With constant fundraising, preparation work and charity ventures, the pageant has taken a lot of Jenayah’s time, but the Year 12 student said she would not change a thing.
“It’s been such a rewarding experience, my confidence has built up so much and I’ve gained so many new beautiful friends,” she said.
“It can be really stressful and time consuming at times but ultimately it is worth it.”
Jenayah will travel to the Gold Coast for a week on April 11 to compete in the national finals.
