ON Fe­bru­ary 26 of­fi­cers from the re­gional op­er­a­tions group, Perth po­lice sta­tion and ca­nine unit at­tended the un­der­ground train sta­tion for a pas­sive alert drug de­tec­tion dog op­er­a­tion. Within the first hour it was al­leged sev­eral peo­ple were lo­cated in pos­ses­sion of pro­hib­ited drugs and were charged. It was al­leged that one 17-year-old male from Carlisle was found in pos­ses­sion of one MDMA tablet, com­monly known as ec­stasy. A fur­ther 81 tablets were found in his bum bag and he was charged with pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited drug with the in­tent to sell or sup­ply. It was also al­leged a 17-year-old from Man­ning was found in pos­ses­sion of a clip seal bag con­tain­ing 29 ec­stasy tablets. He was charged with pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited drug with in­tent to sell and two counts of pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited drug for am­phet­a­mine and cannabis.
