Duffield does it all with bat and ball
PERTH progressed to the Premier Cricket semi-finals after a man-of-the-match performance by Ryan Duffield on Sunday.
The Demons proved too good for reigning premiers Joondalup in their two-day elimination final at Fletcher Park over the weekend.
The triumph means Perth will face minor premiers Rockingham-Mandurah at Lark Hill in the semi-final next weekend.
They may also be boosted by the presence of fast bowler Josh Nicholas, who was unavailable against Joondalup due to WA duty.
Batting first, Perth started in promising fashion after reaching 2-91 early on in their innings.
Jonathan Wells (46) and Dain Moreton (33) combined early, before a collapse halted Perth’s momentum.
At 7-164, Perth was in all sorts of trouble before Duffield hammered 72, to lead his side to 268. In reply, Joondalup were bowled out for 225.
Duffield completed his incredible game with 4-72, while Michael Grzinic took three wickets.
Jacob Van Galen was the other multiple wicket taker.
