WHY are man­u­fac­tur­ers al­lowed to make cars that have a speedome­ter that reads up to 240km/h?

It is ut­terly crazy. There is al­ways go­ing to be some id­iot who will try to push that bound­ary.

There is nowhere in Aus­tralia that you could travel at that speed.

Speedome­ters show one cen­time­tre for each 10km/h. There­fore, af­ter just a few cen­time­tres you are prob­a­bly well over the speed limit.

It is all so ridicu­lous: th­ese sup­posed pos­si­ble speeds are not help­ing our road toll. LIZ BROWN, Warn­bro.
