Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

I AM sick and tired of hearing about leadership spills and backroom backstabbers destabilising political parties - both state and federal. The latest fiasco with Stephen Smith trying to take over the WA Labor leadership was the last straw. This is not an episode of Game Of Thrones. This is our lives you are messing with. So Mark McGowan is not charismatic. That will not stop him developing good policy. And believe me, good policies are what we need to hear from both sides of politics. We want policies that provide better health care for seniors, more childcare places , jobs for our youth and long-term security for the assets we have worked so hard to gather. The nation needs wide-ranging tax reform to ensure we have a strong financial basis into the future. Stop making it about personality. It is not your job to be popular. Leave that to Kim Kardashian. Govern the country properly and you will be judged accordingly.
