TWO boys were charged after a car chase through the southern suburbs came to an end in Carlisle. About 7.15pm on March 20, police conducting patrols in the Kwinana area saw a silver Jaguar sedan that was stolen from Lesmurdie. Police unsuccessfully attempted to stop the car. A police helicopter followed the vehicle and the air crew saw several passengers exit the vehicle on South Terrace in Fremantle before the vehicle continued. The driver and passenger swapped positions a short time late. The Jaguar later crossed a tyre deflation device on Erindale Road in Balcatta. It continued to be driven until it was involved in a collision with a another vehicle at the intersection of Orrong Road and Oats Street in Carlisle. A police car stopped at the scene and the Jaguar crashed into a tree while attempting to get away. Both driver and passenger were located. A 15-year-old Katanning boy was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, failuring to stop and having no authority to drive. A 17-year-old Girrawheen boy was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, failing to stop and breaching a learner’s permit.
