TWO boys were charged af­ter a car chase through the south­ern sub­urbs came to an end in Carlisle. About 7.15pm on March 20, police con­duct­ing pa­trols in the Kwinana area saw a sil­ver Jaguar sedan that was stolen from Les­mur­die. Police un­suc­cess­fully at­tempted to stop the car. A police he­li­copter fol­lowed the ve­hi­cle and the air crew saw sev­eral pas­sen­gers exit the ve­hi­cle on South Ter­race in Fre­man­tle be­fore the ve­hi­cle con­tin­ued. The driver and pas­sen­ger swapped po­si­tions a short time late. The Jaguar later crossed a tyre de­fla­tion de­vice on Erindale Road in Bal­catta. It con­tin­ued to be driven un­til it was in­volved in a col­li­sion with a an­other ve­hi­cle at the in­ter­sec­tion of Or­rong Road and Oats Street in Carlisle. A police car stopped at the scene and the Jaguar crashed into a tree while at­tempt­ing to get away. Both driver and pas­sen­ger were lo­cated. A 15-year-old Katan­ning boy was charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, driv­ing reck­lessly, fail­ur­ing to stop and hav­ing no au­thor­ity to drive. A 17-year-old Gir­rawheen boy was charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, driv­ing reck­lessly, fail­ing to stop and breach­ing a learner’s per­mit.
