LEASINGS STILL UP ON LAST YEAR
RENTAL REIWA members reported total properties (houses and units) leased for the four-week period decreased to 629, a decline of 4 per cent over the past four weeks but still 26 per cent higher than the same time last year.
Total leased properties in the Perth metro region have decreased by 11 per cent but still remain 14 per cent above the same time last year.
Listings in the SouthernGazette area have decreased in the four weeks by 3 per cent but remain 48 per cent higher than the same time last year. The overall market has seen listings increase across the four weeks by 3 per cent and remain 46 per cent above the same time last year.
The overall median weekly rent for the local area for the three months to February 2016 is $390/week overall, which is $55/week lower than the three months to February 2015. Similarly, the overall median rent for Perth has seen a $50/week decrease in the three months to February 2016.
