LEAS­INGS STILL UP ON LAST YEAR

RENTAL REIWA mem­bers re­ported to­tal prop­er­ties (houses and units) leased for the four-week pe­riod de­creased to 629, a de­cline of 4 per cent over the past four weeks but still 26 per cent higher than the same time last year.

To­tal leased prop­er­ties in the Perth metro re­gion have de­creased by 11 per cent but still re­main 14 per cent above the same time last year.

List­ings in the South­ernGazette area have de­creased in the four weeks by 3 per cent but re­main 48 per cent higher than the same time last year. The over­all mar­ket has seen list­ings in­crease across the four weeks by 3 per cent and re­main 46 per cent above the same time last year.

The over­all me­dian weekly rent for the lo­cal area for the three months to Fe­bru­ary 2016 is $390/week over­all, which is $55/week lower than the three months to Fe­bru­ary 2015. Sim­i­larly, the over­all me­dian rent for Perth has seen a $50/week de­crease in the three months to Fe­bru­ary 2016.
