CARLISLE resident Mai Juilus came away with seven medals at the Australian Inline Speed Skating Championships in Penrith, NSW.

Mai (12) won four gold medals and three silver in the under 15 and under 17 categories against competitors across the nation.

Mai had applied for a donation from the Town of Victoria Park to partly fund her travel and accommodation to attend the championships.

She was granted an individual do- nation to represent the state at a national level for sport.

“I’m thankful to have received this donation from the Town; it makes getting to the competitions a little easier and will hopefully further assist me in reaching my goal to be chosen for the Australian team,” Mai said.

Mayor Trevor Vaughn said he was proud the Town’s donation had contributed to Mai’s success at the national championships.
