PERTH Airport has been labelled one of WA’s healthiest workplaces.

The 2016 HBF Corporate Wellness Index recognises organisations within the State that successfully supports employees in improving health and wellbeing.

The index gave a view of the overall health of staff, tracked over time to evaluate the effectiveness of workplace wellness services each year.

Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said being named one of WA’s healthiest workplaces for the third year in a row reflected the high value placed on employee wellbeing.

“We work in a busy environment that operates 24/7, 365 days a year and we have an added responsibility to provide a healthy workplace for our team,” he said.

“Employees have access to a range of initatives, such as educational programs around healthy food choices and cook- ing demonstrations, as well as fitness classes and workplace massages.”

Employees also have access to tools that help to develop proper sleep patterns, relaxation as well as help on how to maintain a work-life balance.

The HBF Corporate Wellness Index is based on measuring employees’ cardiac risk scores, derived from assessing health variables such as family health history and nutritional factors.
