Ascot Eagles help on way to big total

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - WORK PLACE -

WA cricket communities have collectively raised $150,000 for their clubs through a state-wide raffle.

The Good for Cricket Raffle launched in WA last year with 49 clubs participating, with 78 clubs jumping on board to sell raffle tickets this year, and collectively almost doubled the $78,000 raised in 2015.

Ascot Eagles Junior Cricket Club came eighth in the state after raising $4700.

WACA general manager game development David Clear said by helping clubs and their communities, the raffle would inspire the next generation of young players.

“Local cricket clubs are the lifeblood of communities right around WA, and the Good for Cricket Raffle is giving them another way to raise money to improve facilities and introduce more new participants to our great game,” Mr Clear said.

“This creates better clubs, healthier communities and makes the competition stronger at every level.”
