Kilns plan up for comment
A DRAFT local development plan for the Ascot Kilns area will be presented to the public in June for feedback.
The draft plan will consider ideas from a community workshop earlier this year, where participants were asked to explore development scenarios for the site.
The history of the Ascot Kilns dates back to 1903 when it opened as Pitman, Piercy and Co – the first purpose-built pottery works in WA.
The State Government allocated $500,000 in the 2015-16 budget for a planning review of the site, which has been allowed to deteriorate since its closure in 1982.
