DREAMS COSTLY

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

THE Amendment 46 draft report will be discussed by council next week. Let us hope developers’ greed for unlimited profit does not prevail over community benefit and what the local infrastructure can cope with.

Without the Developer Contribution Scheme ever being implemented in South Perth, developers have not had to pay one cent toward infrastructure costs caused by the influx of people and traffic.

We do not want to be subsidising developers’ profits when our rates have to be increased to pay for the chaos their dreams will cost us.

Revitalisation will be great for South Perth; however, let us just do it with a bit of control and common sense. VICKI REDDEN, South Perth. just loud enough for the dog to hear.

Leave the radio on 24 hours a day whether there is someone home or not.

Very soon, the dog gets used to the radio sound and will not get nervous and hence not bark. FRANK GRANGER, Applecross. are diagnosed with a blood cancer or a related blood disorder. As the Leukaemia Foundation receives no ongoing government funding, the support of the community will help meet the increasing demand for our services.

Each year the Foundation supports thousands of people and their families by providing practical services at no cost.

These services include information, practical assistance, emotional support, transport and accommodation for regional families who are required to relocate closer to metropolitan treatment centres.

We also invest millions of dollars each year into vital research to improve treatments.

Thanks to all our supporters, we raised more than $1.66 million in WA and need the WA community to dig deep so that we can reach our fundraising target of $2.4 million.

There is still time to sign up or make a donation at www.worldsgreatestshave.com.

On behalf of all the WA families who will receive support through one of the hardest times in their lives, thank you for supporting the World's Greatest Shave. ANDREW YORK, general manager WA, Leukaemia Foundation.
