PO­LICE in Bel­mont drew their taser on a man who re­sisted ar­rest af­ter be­ing pulled over for driv­ing a car with stolen num­ber plates. About 3.30pm last Wed­nes­day, a dog squad unit was pa­trolling Bel­mont when of­fi­cers spot­ted a white Holden Com­modore bear­ing stolen num­ber plates. The driver stopped on Aber­nethy Road and was re­quested to re­main in the ve­hi­cle nu­mer­ous times but con­tin­ued to try and exit the ve­hi­cle. As the of­fi­cer at­tempted to re­strain the man, he reached un­der the driver’s seat, prompt­ing the of­fi­cer to draw his taser and in­struct the man to step away from the ve­hi­cle. Po­lice say they later found an axe, meth and cash un­der the seat of the car. A 36-year-old Cloverdale man has been charged with steal­ing, bur­glary,
