Youth arts program encouraging creativity

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

CROWN Resorts and the Packer Family Foundation have launched a new $25 million arts initiative to bring more opportunities to youth.

The Melbourne and Perth Art Education Initiative is an eight-year joint commitment to provide young Australians with more opportunities to engage in the arts.

The programs will promote creativity and encourage participants to engage in their local community.

Packer Family Foundation chairwoman Gretel Packer announced the initiative last week.

“Australia is a vast, dynamic and multicultural country,” Ms Packer said.

“The programs we partner with through this initiative will provide young Australians with important social and cultural access points, mentoring and engagement opportunities to help them on a path to fulfil their dreams.”

The new initiative will encourage youngsters’ creativity and offer opportunities for them to engage with the arts.
