SEAFOOD GETS GLITZY AT RE­SORT

RE­SORT-STYLE glam­our and seafood will com­bine as part of The Culi­nary Es­cape event at Broome’s Ca­ble Beach Club Re­sort and Spa this month.

Perth chef Peter Man­i­fis and fish­mon­ger Josh Cata­lano will share their love of seafood with guests in a se­ries of tan­ta­lis­ing events cen­tred on lo­cal seafood en­joyed in the re­sort.

Man­i­fis said he was thrilled to be in­vited as the head­line chef of the in­au­gu­ral three­day event and was look­ing for­ward to work­ing with Cata­lano.

“The week­end is all about tak­ing the op­por­tu­nity to en­joy what we have on of­fer on our very own doorstep, with both the stun­ning sur­rounds and the great pro­duce, so it will be a good mix of re­lax­ation and food ex­pe­ri­ences,” Man­i­fis said.

“Fri­day will be a re­laxed evening on the Okari Deck, where I’ll get to spend time with the guests. Then Josh will share tips on how to pre­pare your seafood at home and some dif­fer­ent dishes.

“Sun­day evening’s din­ner will be tak­ing in­spi­ra­tion from amaz­ing flavours of the lo­cal bush spices of the Kim­ber­ley re­gion and us­ing them to com­ple­ment the amaz­ing fresh seafood WA has to of­fer.”

Man­i­fis, who has vis­ited the re­gion over the past two years as a guest chef at the Ca­ble Beach Club’s Telethon week­end, said he had pre­vi­ously en­joyed host­ing a Seafood Cock­tail re­cep­tion that had al­ways been very pop­u­lar with the in­vited guests.
