TWO com­mu­nity sport­ing clubs have joined forces to max­imise play­ing space for mem­bers.

Victoria Park Carlisle Bowl­ing Club and the Area 5 Soccer Club formed an ar­range­ment that will have the soccer club us­ing the bowl­ing greens for five-a-side matches.

The soccer com­pe­ti­tion will in­volve peo­ple of all ages and both gen­ders and is ex­pected to launch in late June.

Bowl­ing Club pres­i­dent Meryl Bolton said she was ex­cited about the project and the prospect of hav­ing the two clubs in­volved and in­ter­act­ing. MAN­NING Ten­nis Club is gear­ing up to cel­e­brate its Di­a­mond Ju­bilee an­niver­sary this month.

The event will be held on April 30 with an open door pol­icy to both mem­bers and the pub­lic.

The club is also cel­e­brat­ing the com­ple­tion of the re­cent club­house ren­o­va­tions.

City of South Perth Mayor Sue Do­herty will present a com­mem­o­ra­tive plaque to the club. The Di­a­mond Ju­bilee fes­tiv­i­ties will in­clude a coach­ing clinic, dou­bles ten­nis tour­na­ment, high tea, silent auction and more.
