SHE stumbled upon the competition by chance, but Manning’s Jenayah Elliot could not have planned it better if she had tried.

Earlier this month, the 17-year-old beauty was crowned with the prestigious title of Miss Teen Galaxy Australia.

Jenayah entered the competition on a whim after the pageant’s director scouted her at a shopping centre.

After blitzing the state finals, she flew to the Gold Coast to compete for and eventually win the national title.

“When my name was called it took a few seconds to register, but it was easily the best moment of my life to date,” Jenayah said.

“I didn’t even have time to think, I just cried. My first thought was that I just wanted to get down from the stage and run and hug my mum.”

Following on from the announcement, Jenayah admitted one highlight from the night was indulging in celebratory desserts with her fellow competitors.

“This pageant truly did bring me some lifelong friends,” she said.

“When I won we went back to the hotel and indulged in McDonald’s and literally every flavour of ice cream on the room service menu.”

Jenayah will fly to Orlando, USA, in August to represent Australia in the international heats of Miss Teen Galaxy. The philanthropic beauty said she planned to work closely with charities and try to make a positive difference.

“I really hope to use this opportunity to make a positive change and difference in people’s lives,” she said.

Cream of the crop: Jenayah Elliot ate ice cream to celebrate her winning the Miss Teen Galaxy Australia title.
