Entries for young writers’ award open
ENTRIES to the 2016 Phillip Pendal Award for young writers and photographers are now open.
Students from Years 1 to 12 who are living in or attending school in the City of South Perth are invited to take part in the annual competition.
Hosted by the South Perth Historical Society, the competition’s prizes amount to more than $500 in value.
Participants are asked to write a factual story based on the theme ‘my favourite historical place, building, object or person connected to a suburb of South Perth’.
The entry should be illustrated with a clear photograph.
Entries close on May 20 and winners will have their work displayed at Heritage House for a limited time. More information is at www.southperthhistoricalsociety.org.
