Unregistered painter fined over work done
AN unregistered Rivervale painter was successfully prosecuted by the Building Commissioner for failing to comply with a building remedy order.
Raymond Patrick O’Sullivan, trading as Prime Finishes Painting Services, was fined $4500 and had to pay costs of about $616 after he pleaded guilty to three charges over work he did at an East Victoria Park property in October 2014.
The court proceedings were finalised at the Perth Magistrates Court on February 12.
Two charges were for undertaking painting work worth over $1000 for profit without the required registration and one charge was for failing to comply with an order of the Building Commissioner.
The painting at the East Victoria Park property was valued at $3200.
The owner was dissatisfied with Mr O’Sullivan’s work and lodged a complaint with the Building Commission.
The Building Commission ordered Mr O’Sullivan to remedy 11 workmanship issues within 28 days but he did not comply with the order.
