Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

ABOUT 10am on April 29, a man entered a sports store on Belmont Avenue in Cloverdale. He selected an item from the shelf and placed it under his jumper. He then left the store, but caused security sensors to activate as he walked out. Staff approached the man and asked him to return to the store. The man then produced a knife and waved it at retreating staff members, before running away. He was last seen heading towards the intersection of Abernethy Road and Fulham Street in Cloverdale. Police have released a CCTV image of a man they think can assist with inquiries. The man is described as being light skinned, 22-27 years old with a medium build. He was about 170-175cm tall and was wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark jumper with Echo on the front, three-quarter denim shorts and white runners.
