Airline boosts Perth service

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

PERTH Airport has welcomed Etihad Airways’ first scheduled service with its upgraded Boeing 787900 Dreamliner from Abu Dhabi.

“We are delighted that Etihad has chosen to upgrade its aircraft on the Perth route,” Perth Airport acting chief executive officer Victor Howard said.

“Customers can now travel with Etihad between Perth and Abu Dhabi in one of the world’s quietest and most innovative aircraft.”

The Dreamliner daily service will replace the Airbus A330-200 and delivers a 14 per cent increase in capacity. Etihad senior vicepresident of marketing Shane O’Hare said the additional weekly seats to Perth would bolster Etihad Airways’ existing support for tourism.

“We will bring more visitors from across our global network to experience the delights of a Western Australian holiday,” he said.

Etihad will be the fifth airline to operate the Boeing 787-900 to Perth, alongside Air New Zealand, China Southern Airlines, Scoot and Thai Airways.
