Stolen cars charges

KENS­ING­TON de­tec­tives charged three men af­ter six ve­hi­cles were stolen from a car yard in Welsh­pool late last month.

It was al­leged about 1.20am on May 27 that the gates of a car yard were rammed us­ing a Chevy Sub­ur­ban be­fore a num­ber of peo­ple en­tered the premises on Welsh­pool Road.

Ve­hi­cle win­dows were smashed and locked boxes were forced open.

Six ve­hi­cles were stolen and 19 had been en­tered, moved or dam­aged.

By 5pm, Kens­ing­ton de­tec­tives had re­cov­ered five of the ve­hi­cles, in Wat­tle Grove, Gos­nells, By­ford and two in Queens Park.

Dur­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, a jet ski and trailer that were be­lieved to have been stolen were con­fis­cated from a Queens Park prop­erty.

A 28-year-old Warn­bro man was ar­rested in Wat­tle Grove and charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, three counts of pos­sess­ing stolen prop­erty and no au­thor­ity to drive.

A 41-year-old Perth man was charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle.

A 41-year-old Lock­ridge man was charged with bur­glary, pos­ses­sion of a firearm and a pro­hib­ited drug, and steal­ing.

All three men faced Perth Mag­is­trates Court and were re­manded in cus­tody.
