KENS­ING­TON de­tec­tives ar­rested a 31-year-old man on June 2 in re­la­tion to an ag­gra­vated bur­glary and steal­ing in­ci­dent from 2014. It was al­leged about 1.35pm on May 11, 2014, a man armed with a tom­a­hawk and three other peo­ple forced their way into a home in Water­ford. The 80-year-old fe­male oc­cu­pant of the home hid in her bed­room wardrobe as men ran­sacked her home and stole more than $30,000 worth of jew­ellery, cash and prop­erty. The man fled WA to the eastern states, where he came to the at­ten­tion of po­lice in NSW and Queens­land. As a re­sult of an ex­ten­sive in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Kens­ing­ton de­tec­tives ar­rested him at a prop­erty in Kew­dale. He was charged with ag­gra­vated bur­glary, steal­ing, as­sault of a pub­lic of­fi­cer and pro­vid­ing false de­tails to po­lice.
