KENSINGTON detectives arrested a 31-year-old man on June 2 in relation to an aggravated burglary and stealing incident from 2014. It was alleged about 1.35pm on May 11, 2014, a man armed with a tomahawk and three other people forced their way into a home in Waterford. The 80-year-old female occupant of the home hid in her bedroom wardrobe as men ransacked her home and stole more than $30,000 worth of jewellery, cash and property. The man fled WA to the eastern states, where he came to the attention of police in NSW and Queensland. As a result of an extensive investigation, Kensington detectives arrested him at a property in Kewdale. He was charged with aggravated burglary, stealing, assault of a public officer and providing false details to police.
