Recycling stall opens at markets

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

OLD batteries, light globes and smoke detectors can now be recycled at the Victoria Park Farmers Markets.

Earlier this month, the Community Forum Victoria Park opened a new stall to collect the recyclables.

The stall will be at the markets on the third Sunday of every month from 8am to noon.

The idea was born when the group noticed a lack of local recycling stations for globes, batteries and more, and so decided to create a centralised point to make recycling easier.

The Community Forum Victoria Park began in 1954 as the Carlisle Ward Ratepayers and Residents Association Inc.

The group advocate for improved policies and services, monitor the performance of the council, and more.
