POLICY EXPECTED

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

MANY residents in South Perth are fed up with the escalating congestion on their local streets and thoroughfares.

The Canning Bridge area in particular has become nightmarish for travel at peak hours.

One of the first remedies to the Canning Bridge problem would be to build the new ramp from Manning Road to the freeway south.

This is an opportunity for our federal political parties to make at least some funding commitment to improve the South Perth area.

Alternatively, is it because we are in a safe Liberal electorate that “investment” in South Perth is seen to be “wasted”?

We would look forward to each political party publicising their policy on funding the Manning Roadfreeway south ramp. CECILIA BROOKE, chairwoman, City of South Perth Residents Association.
