Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

WELL, are we any the wiser after almost eight weeks of the federal election campaign? Have any of the promises, threats or jibes made you change your vote? According to the surveys, a lot of voters have switched off. Maybe they were never switched on in the first placeby the grinding electioneering over the past months. In my opinion, the opposing leaders have been quite gentlemanly. I thought it would be a much grubbier scrap. But there are a few days left. I guess it could still descend into a brawl. With the polls still locked at 50/50, the most interesting outcome could be the Senate and who holds the balance of power. There are still plenty of characters in line for a seat. And there will be plenty of entertainment if Derryn Hinch or Pauline Hanson clinch a spot. I am pretty sure everybody will be glad when it is over – campaigners, media and voters alike.
